Design A maRs lander

How does the terrain of Mars affect your design?

I asked myself what type of design I wanted to do. I decided I was going to try and design a G-Wagon because i'm boujee.

Imagined

I imagined what type of shapes and colours I was going to use for my mars lander.  

Plan

First I attempted to draw my design on paper. The I took my design to Tinker-cad

Create

The G-Wagon design I had chosen didn't work very well for me, when I tried to build it on Tinker-cad. I built a horse instead.

Experiment

Right now with my group of Tara and Lillie and me we are building a G-Wagon with Lego.

Improve

We have changed our design once so far, because the sphero didn't move the Lego.

A Bit About Mars

-Mars is half the size of earth

-Mars has two moons their names are: Phobos and Deimos

-Mars is described as a ‘Cold dessert world’.

-Mars has 687 earth days

-Mars is red because of the rusty iron in the ground

Using JavaScript With Sphero

JavaScript is technical coding program. It uses numbers, words/letters and punctuation. I have almost finished my code, and I don't know what it does. Apparently it makes a square but what would I know. Soon I am going to use some code to make my mars lander move around like a true G-Wagon.

Virtual Mars rover

Today I have been learning to maneuver a virtual Mars rover. I have now figured out how to manipulate my rover, and control it.

A bit about InSight

InSight is a new 2018 mission to find out about the core of mars and its layers. Some of the additions to this design are; a complicated machinery stick that gets stuck into the surface of mars (16 feet) to find out about the temperature of mars.

If this mission goes to plan, it will hopefully tell us more about the other planets in our solar system.

Hypothesis

I believe that our design will be able to drive on any terrain, because it has thick snazzy wheels. We have also designed it so that if it gets flipped over it won't matter, for example we can throw it and it does flips wooOOO

Supporting my Hypothesis

I think this is what’s going to happen because…-

Our Robot design has this shape because we had a design we were trying to make, it also is this size because it had to fit the shepro

-Our Robot will navigate the terrain with these features because does flips. So if there was a big rock we could get around it can just go over it and do a flip. (land up right again). The cameras will also help us see what is going on.

-Our data capturing tools are these because we think they will work best in those places. They also would fit our design best

-Our lander will be maneuvered by the sphero app. You can connect the sphero with an app and drive, change the colour and change the speed of the sphero

Variables that may affect the outcome...

-The weather

-An alien that could do something to our G Wagon

-The equipment being bad

-Large objects landing on our chassis

Football Formation Challenge

Today in robotics I have been learning to use Python to solve the Football Formation Challenge.
At first (yesterday) I was finding this quite struggling, but soon I got the hang of it.
I can now describe how I wrote out the code. This challenge uses Y and X coordinates, X being across and Y being up.

Hero Cycle Speech Thingg

Spirited Away was the movie I chose to write my speech about. This movie is about a girl named Chihiro who goes into ghost town with her parents, who soon turn into pigs. Chihiro has to get a job in the town's big bathhouse to survive there. She meets many spirits, makes friends, faces many challenges and becomes a hero. I feel like if I had of started my speech sooner so I could practice more than once, I would have done better (I noticed myself losing the line I was reading).

Basic Algebra :O

This is an example of basic algebra 3a+2a= 5a because well 3+2=5 and ye know just add a because that's letter in the equation. I used the same method to work out the rest of these.


Another example:
6x-3x= 6x because 6-3=3 and then add x






The answer to this equation is 9m +7 because,  6m+3m=9m and then 5+2= 7 so it 9m +7

  

Art Or Vandalism?

Graffiti

Is graffiti art or vandalism?

Everyone is going to have a different opinion on this topic.

My beliefs are that graffiti is both art and vandalism, it depends on what it is and where it is.

Vandalism is something inappropriate for example, swearing, inappropriate images or images that may affect someone. It's also vandalism if its drawn on a gravestone, someone's property or a baby. (And of course others).

As I said graffiti isn't always bad. If it has a positive message, nice picture or in a place of importance I would say it is art.
